We're taking to the streets with our 1950's GMC transit buses (the Twin Cities' transit buses, once upon a time!) for Minneapolis and St. Paul city history tours, showcasing local breweries or partnering with fellow museums, depending on the date.
 
Step back in time with us on this historic ride, learn a little bit more about our great cities, and enjoy some spectacular local craft beer.

It's the 9th Annual Winter Beer Dabbler at the State Fairgrounds- and we're going to have one of our vintage buses there onsite, giving great deals on merch and promoting all-that-is-Minnesota-beer, with our brewery friends!
$45 in advance- and 500 beers being poured!?!?!

Our fabulous tour guide, Teresa, will lead us round trip from the Transportation Museum, into historic St. Paul to see some sights, a stop at Flat Earth Brewing, then back out for some more history, before stopping at Great Waters Brewing for more drinks (and food available to order). Then finishing off at the Transportation Museum's historic Roundhouse, with a personal tour by Executive Director Erik Johnson.

1:45-2pm - Arrive and park at Transportation Museum (free parking lot). Come inside to check-in.
2:15pm (PROMPTLY) - Load awesome looking vintage bus parked out front, and depart Transportation Museum.

A Scientific Day Trip: Energy, Transportation, and Frankenstein: 4.21.18  ~  11-5:30pm

**THIS IS A NON-BEER RELATED BUS TOUR
The Goodhue County Historical Society, in partnership with the Transportation Museum and The Bakken Museum, invite the public for a unique tour experience The Bakken in Minneapolis Minnesota.
The experience will begin with a self-guided exploration of the temporary exhibit Electrifying Minnesota, at the Goodhue County History Center. Participants will then board a bus, provided by the Transportation Museum, and enjoy a boxed lunch as they learn about the relationship between energy and transportation.

The Bakken will then facilitate exciting experiences which include a 45 minute theatrical presentation Finding Frankenstein, which explores the history and nature of science, electricity, and the human body, as well as a guided tour of the exhibits currently at The Bakken.
Participants must register for this event by April 5, 2018.

THIS IS ROUND TRIP FROM THE GOODHUE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
IN REDWING, MN. Meet at the Goodhue County History Center at 11:00am,
1166 Oak Street, Red Wing.

We're celebrating week long festivities on all that is about Transportation in the Twin Cities.
So join us on our vintage bus for a brewery hop and lunch, as we explore the vintage bus topic... OK, it's really just the beer topic, and drinking it, so we'll cut some of the history this round and have a good time!
We'll start out at the Transportation Museum in St. Paul, head to a couple of our local favorite breweries, and even hang out at one of them long enough for lunch together.

Arrive and promptly load the vintage bus at the Transportation Museum in St. Paul.
We will be heading to 3 different breweries,
but the first one we will be stopping at will have food to order for lunch.

Northfield Jesse James Bank gun-slinging vintage bus history & brewery tour : 7.21.18 ~ 12:30-6:30pm

In partnership with the Northfield Historical Society-
We will be traveling down to Northfield, MN. to visit the famous bank that Jesse James and his gang tried to rob.
Roundtrip from the Transportation Museum in St. Paul.
Bus leaves promptly at 12:30pm.
Brewery stop at 1:30 in Northfield.
Historical tour of the bank from 2:45-4pm. Possibly a gun-slinging (nerf) test of your gun-drawing abilities- to win a free beer at the brewery...
Brewery stop from 4-5:30. Dinner option.
History along the way-
Return to St. Paul at 6:30pm.

Please eat lunch prior to tour, as there will only be one food stop for dinner.

ASI On The Road.  The American Swedish Institute is teaming up with the Minnesota Transportation Museum to bring you to highpoints, lowpoints and all the points in Minnesota with deepened connections to the Nordic region on these new, exciting offsite facilitated tours.  This summer/fall, ASI On The Road tours will visit sites that intersect with the Handmade.
